Versatility is the key

The maximum sound pressure level (SPL) of 129dB and the undistorted transmission of up to 125dB SPL show that the t.bone SC 1100 works best for vocal and speech recordings, but acoustic instruments such as nylon-string guitars can also shine with the microphone's brilliant hi-fi sound, because the different polar patterns make it flexible to use in the studio. Volle klank heldere klank, overstuurd wel redelijk snel

De klank is vol en helder, de bas wordt bij hoger volume echter minder gedefinieerd. Het membraan kan weinig geluidsdruk hebben. Een luide zang gaat niet het gewenste geluid geven. Teveel vervorming en laag. Als overhead merkte ik ook distortion en geen definitie. Bij niet al te luide geluids bronnen zeer goed inzetbaar. Zoals room mic bijvoorbeeld.

Heb veel microfoons in mijn studio gebruikt van >€2000,- en ik zal niet zeggen dat het vergelijkbaar is maar de prijs voor deze microfoon incl spin en case is belachelijk laag en klinkt verrassend goed, breed inzetbaar en voor kleine home studio toegevoegde waarde

Een mooi vol warm en natuurlijk geluid.

Ik maak regelmatig testopnamen voor met name saxofoon. Met de meest simpele basisopstelling die voor mij als a-technische muzikant het snelst en het meest intiutief werkt. Microfoon via Focusrite audioface aangesloten op een iPad. Het gaat mij vooral om de natuurlijke weergave van de toon van de sax en het vergelijken van verschillen tussen mondstukken en rieten. Maar ook om gewoon te studeren en terug te luisteren wat ik gespeeld heb. Daar heb ik al diverse microfoons voor getest, geen van allen in de hogere prijsklasse. Enkele daarvan heb ik nog steeds maar die vind ik meer geschikt om te gebruiken op het podium bij optredens. De t.bone SC 1100 leek mij als groot-membraam microfoon erg interessant voor home recordings te maken. Ik heb een flink aantal reviews gelezen en geluisterd op het Web en ook vergelijkbare microfoons overwogen in eenzelfde prijsklasse. De keuze viel op de SC 1100 en ik moet toegeven dat ik er geen spijt van heb. Voor saxofoon is hij erg goed. Elke nuance in het lage-, midden- en hoge register geeft deze mic uitstekend weer. Ik wilde ook een microfoon die vooral warm klinkt zoals bijvoorbeeld een ribbon microfoon. Ik heb het idee dat de SC 1100 daar dichtbij in de buurt komt. Daarnaast zijn de afstelmogelijkheden prima. 3 verschillende karakteristieken low cut (hoewel ik die niet gebruik). De Cardoïde stand ligt voor de hand maar ik speel het liefst met de Omni- directional instelling, om een meer natuurlijk 'live' gevoel te behouden in de ruimte waarin ik opneem.
Ik ben er erg tevreden over. Voor een warme saxsound is het zeker een aanrader.

Zeer professionele microfoon

De SC 1100 klinkt zeer goed. Mooi, helder geluid en weinig ruis. De richtkarakteristiekinstellingen zijn zeer handig. De meeste microfoons in deze prijsklasse beschikken niet over deze instellingen. Zo kan deze microfoon aangepast worden aan elke studiosituatie. Zelf gebruik ik hem vooral voor vocals, roommic en om extra diepte te geven aan akoestische en elektrische gitaar en hij doet zijn job geweldig!

Voor deze prijs heeft deze microfoon maar weinig concurrentie.
