Tannoy Gold 8

I got these speakers as I needed some cheap onsite reference monitors for a project I was working on. Not expecting much, I was very pleasantly surprised when I turned them on and started listening to them. They put a slight emphasis on the lower frequencies, but other than that they sound great for the money. These speakers can easilly reproduce low frequencies without sounding boomy like many other budget oriented monitors do. Front controls allow you to tweak the level of the horn/tweeter and the input level of the speaker. Back controls allow you to tweak the bass response. The only downside is that they're very large and bulky. Compared to other 8 inch monitors I've seen, they're very deep. If you have plenty of space, this isn't a problem of course. Overall these are pretty great monitors for the price range.
