Volledig uit plastic vervaardigd. In eerste instantie was ik wat sceptisch over de kwaliteit, maar nu we het een jaar gebruikt hebben, nog geen nadelen/defecten kunnen vinden. Misschien dat het plastic het juist wel steviger maakt. Er zit een schroefje achterop de haspel die als rem dient.
Bij een metaalbewerker heb ik een afdekplaatje met een chassisdeel gemonteerd op de kopse kant, voor het gebruiksgemak.

We've got two of these drums and they're great for compact multicores. We use one for a 4-way 25m XLR cable and the other for a 72m 2-core fibre optic reel. The front plate brackets provide a bit of extra storage space. Because of the size things can get cramped e.g. when you're using your foot to hold it in place when retrieving the cable, and likewise the handle is on the small side. But it's a useful option when the next size up is too big.

I wanted a cable roll for a 50m XLR cable for a PA setup, and this is just perfect. You can roll out just what you need and there's a locking feature to prevent it from unravelling any more. A few metres of cable can be wound on the outside (so you can connect to the speaker without having to use another lead) and the rest is on the spool. It feels robust and good quality, as you'd expect from Schill.
