Millenium MCT-20

Ik kocht deze kabeltester omdat hij zoveel diverse soorten connectors kan verbinden. Met het sluiten van het batterijcompartimentje bleek de spanning uit te vallen. Ik duwde geregeld op de sluiting en dan kwam er contact en dan weer niet. Maar, blijkbaar moet je het compartiment stevig indrukken en naar beneden toe zodat het clipje in het openingetje binnenin kan klikken. In dat geval zit de batterijhouder wèl goed vast. Zo lijkt het me dus toch degelijk en is mijn twijfel van mijn aankoop verdwenen. Ik heb wat etherconkabels. Fijn dat je die ik die nu ook kan checken. Het zou nog mooier zijn geweest mochten daar ook Neutrik CAT5 ingangen voor zijn geweest. Nu moet ik de Neutrikplug demonteren om het contactblokje te ontbloten en vervolgens in te pluggen. Het opnieuw sluiten van sommige Neutrik Cat5 plugs is soms wat lastig.
Verder best tevreden over dit toestel. Ook het gewone doormeten van een draad met de banana plugs waarbij een pieptoon klinkt is ook handig. Daarmee kan je bijvoorbeeld ook een stroomkabel (met schuko stekkers) doormeten.

Clean and simple device. has all type of "small" signal connectors I can imagine and simply tests a pin to pin continuity. the beautiful thing about it is all connectors pins are parallel, so if you have let's say a XLR 5p to 3p converter or a TRS/TS jack to XLR or RCA, you can still test it! which pretty much covers it. in case your type of connector is not on the tester (Harting/Soca etc.) you could still test with the two probes which are provided with the device. it takes a standart 9V battery and it lasts forever, so no need to worry about that.
the size of it is relatively small, for the amount of connectors offered, it's light and you can just throw it in with your toolbox.
the build quality seems sturdy enough and I hadn't had problems with it breaking on me. I do treat it nicely so I can't guarantee it will survive very rough handling.
I found it a great problem solving/preventing tool on the field and would recommend it to anyone that asks me about a cable tester.
there's nothing I've seen in this price category which comes even close to it.
bottom line: Buy it now!

I am a hobby technician at my high school an i have bought this tester almost half a year ago. And i can only say one thing about it, every technician should have this device or something comparable.

the negative points I have about this device are:
- it is quite heavy, this isn't a pocket device! it is one to have in your daily carry case.
- the knob isn't that easy to turn, but i fixed this by putting a different plastic knob onto the shaft so that i have more grip.
- no USB.

the big positive points of this device are:
- lots of different connectors, i have used a Behringer CT100 before at my school and i always had problems missing connectors, but with this thing, except for USB i don't miss any.
- It is heavy, this thing is built like a tank, not quite to Nokia 3310 standards but close to it.
