This little caxixi is ideal for acoustic settings. It produces a soft, warm tone yet produces the right amount of attack when needed. Sonically, it works well with both the Meinl CAX2 and CAX3. In general, Meinl Caxixi are very well made with a good colour scheme.

Nice Caxixi

This is a well made, smallish ccxixi that works well in many situations. The outer material is reed, the bottom is coconut shell which is quite piercing as opposed to gourd and inside are small plastic beards. I would prefer a natural filling for an overall less plastic sound, but overall these are great little instruments. Get yourself 2 and the sky is the limit for combining rhythms ect.

Great sound !
But the construction of the woven basket seems a bit flaky: the rattan is raw, and the end of each strand looks like it wants to come lose.
