A must have for guitar players
Víctorfromspain 05.10.2017
It reduces the noise when switching effects. This is a good invention to get pure sound of only audio signal of your guitar after a pedal chain. It stops the unwanted energies filtered to your jack, especially if one of the power supplies creates a DC offset which is noisy energy of transformers that could also do ground loops because the energy without this tool travels freely. This guy is a barrier of stomp pedals DC energy infiltrated in all the cables. It is as simple as that. It is small, as wide as a pedal but length 30%. It cleans up the sounds. The only bad point you need to buy one more jack. It is very useful if you are looking for professional sound. With this you can be sure that the final output will not have an energy that could damage your recording machine. It is suitable to get the best of just one pedal or especially good if you have professional gear where lot of currents are used, so you are safer out of electric shocks. It is suitable also for acoustic guitars with piezo because in this case the 9 volt battery also adds unwanted noises mixed in the sound signal, so the solution is this technology of galvanic isolation where there is no contact but the info is transfered. Lehle DC Filter is passive so needs no battery. It has one jack input and one output. Built solid as a tank. Weights 120 grams. It is very cheap for the good work it does. You can plug either stereo or mono, so it is suitable for other instruments that uses power supplies. It is magnific complement of the splitters of the same brand but also can be used alone. If you care about the quality of your music, consider this product.

One filter to rule them all

This little box is pure magic.
I work with huge pedal systems that can actually have some issues with noisy switches.
Put this little toy at the bottom of your chain and every DC noise will disappear.
Passive, tiny and transparent and not so expensive.
Love it.

Seems to work... but NOT straight away..
ShreddyKrueger. 07.10.2024
My pedalboard has 11 pedals on it, and 5 before the delay have for the past year been making really loud pops when I pressed the bypass footswitches. The delay then repeated these loud pops in all their annoying glory.

So, I tried the Lehle DC Filter.
I tried it in every position, some even on the pedalboard. ;)
No matter where I placed it, nothing seemed to help stop/reduce the popping. But in some positions it did manage to cause some strange and loud sounds that I have never heard through a guitar amp before. (In one position it made clicking sounds like The Predator, I kid you not!).

Because I knew I had Thomann's 30 Day Return Policy, I decided to place the Lehle last on my board (the cable from my amp is plugged into the Lehle) in the hope it might just reduce the popping a little bit.

After about 5-7 days, I noticed the popping volume had reduced significantly, and sometimes did not happen at all.
So, I decided to keep the Lehle, as it was clearly doing something to help.

After another couple of weeks I noticed the popping was pretty much gone. Once in a while I might hear a very faint pop in the delay repeats when I press a footswitch, but it is VERY faint and I have to listen closely for it.

So, it seems to work, but it did not work straight away for me.
I would tentatively rate it at 5 Stars.
It seems to be doing what I wanted, it doesn't require power, and the build quality is solid.

Assuming I'm allowed to Edit my Reviews, I will report back if the popping ever returns. (I would feel a right wally if the stop of the pops actually had nothing to do with the Lehle).

It helps to eliminate power noise.
Easy to use. doesn't require power, it's passive.
I found it works best for my active bass.
Confusing instructions though.
Doesn't hurt to have one.
Good price point.
