Sometimes you buy a cheap piece of gear, just to see if the workflow is for you. And sometimes that cheap piece of gear ends up being so good that you don't need anything else. The FXL8 Pro is a great example of that last category.
Not only do you get 8 loops, they're already split in two sets of four so you can have pre-amp and FX-loop effects without sacrificing a loop to routing. You get a separate tuner output with a mute option.
The amp switching outputs are separate, which is nice if you run two amps. But be aware that you will need a Y-cable to switch an amp that has a two-switch footswitch.
The MIDI-output allows you to send two independent MIDI messages in each preset, which is brilliant because it allows me to switch my Strymon Timeline and Big Sky independently. And all of that in a metal case that feels like it'll last many, many gigs.
If I had to name one thing I like less about it, it would be that I would have loved to have more than 8 banks of presets, so that I could use one bank per song in my band instead of having to share presets between songs. But hey, at this price that's just whining!
