Years ago i made a loudspeaker box, quite small, i fact just big enough to house an original 1967 10inch Fender speaker. It sounded ok but not more than that. Probably that speaker didn't like size of the box. Perhaps needed more space to work well. That speaker stopped working last week, complete silence. Perhaps not strange after 57 year of service. At the internet i listened to many brands of ten inch speakers. In the past i did chose for the ten inch range because they are used in Fender Princeton amps and others with good recording reputation. This Celestion Ten 30 sounded each time i listened on the internet perfect to me. Although the speakers of my ipad can only give an impression of a speakers character. And i really wondered how this speaker would sound in the small box i once made. After dialing in the amps i work with: Marshall, Vox, Ibanez, this Celestion sounded perfect. Just perfect. Smooth, creamy, nice lows and mids and pleasant highs. One could say: for the low price it is quite good. I say : no matter what the price is; this speaker sounds absolutely fine. Speaking about my taste and needs of course.
