Very good practice mute!

As a professional tromboneplayer, I am really happy with this new Bremner Practice Mute. I have had several mutes of which I wasn't always "happy" with the resistance & intonation, but with this one, I really found a great solution for hotelroom-practice-situations with a great volume reduction.
Very advisable!

Goedkope practice mute

Steekt voor de beker uit en moet dus afzonderlijk worden meegenomen.
Redelijk goede demping, maar wel aanzienlijke klankvervorming.
Eerder grote invloed op de weerstand van het instrument.

I got this hoping that I could practise at home in my apartment without bothering the neighbors.

The volume reduction is very impressive and seems to be reasonably even across the range of the instrument. It does affect intonation and the feel of the instrument a little but less than I feared.

To be honest it isn't particularly fun to play with but at least it makes it possible for me to practise at home, something I can not do at full volume. I guess it's probably as good as it gets for practise mutes (I've tried another practise mute from a different brand that was a LOT worse).

The build quality seems ok. It's plastic but unless it's severely abused it should be fine.

Conclusion: Not a lot of fun but works as advertised. Highly recommended if you MUST practise at home (or in hotel rooms, etc.). Just don't expect it to sound amazing.
