I am a singer-songwriter,with a small kitchen table home studio where i record songs, that i place on youtube. I am a guitarist and can hardly play key-board but just play around until it in my opinion fits the song. Using a very old yamaha PS-55 that is kinda special today because of it's analogue sounds. For some more modern piano's and especially the sound of a 'church organ' i looked around and found this most affordable yamaha. I know a professional great all-round keyboard player, and when he visited us in Amsterdam coming from Germany i asked him to play on my latest production for song video. He has the best of best key-boards in his studio and for a joke i took my yamaha out of the thomann box, in the mean time telling him that i did win a million a bought the newest and most expensive keyboard on the market today. After i placed the super lightweight Yamaha on the table we had a laugh. When he started to play i was amazed, hearing Sebastian going loose on some classics and pieces of Bach and Beethoven. We had great fun. He told me that for the low price it 's not easy to find something better. The 'church organ' and the piano's that he played did the job on my demo's. He showed me many more interesting sounds that are available. And because of it's simplicity this yamaha is easy to operate. The output is a simple mini jack that can be sent to a mixer or amp with the right adjuster cable. When recording set the Yamaha output at a volume between 4 or 5. Try before recording what works best for you. And by the way, the on-board speakers let you play where and when ever you want. Very reasonable sound! The opinion of the pro: 'of course in no way to be compared with gear that pro's and semi-pro's are working with.' Do not expect anything fancy. Don't search for touch sensitivity on the keys. Simply great for a beginner, or in my case: to have a variation of good to very reasonable sounds at hand when creating music and recording. And all of that 'for a real small price.
