I bought this flute to use on some singer-songwriter tracks and other acoustic folk or pop recordings to enhance or differentiate melodies in the music. In the end it was a fun and easy to pick up instrument. Now I use it regularly and every once in a while it inspires me to write music from a totally different starting point from usual, this reaps interesting results.
As I mentioned this instrument is very easy to pick up and start making music with. It might be a bit tricky at the start but you should be able to play a handful of recognizable tunes within a week's time. There is the option to explore this instrument more in-depth for those who like to do that sort of thing, and besides all this it is also a very nice looking instrument (especially for its price). It might not be made out of the most expensive wood available but the fact that it is made out of some sort of wood gives the instrument a nice, enjoyable and warm tone that you wont get from plastic or metal flutes.
I recommend it fully for any musician to pick it up and have it enrich the music you write, tough I am skeptical about using it as "the one instrument to own" as it is a bit limited in its usage and might sound a bit underwhelming without the accompaniment of other instruments.
