Great value

I was looking for an affordable set to replace my B20 alloy Meinl MCS set. I already owned an Istanbul 18" medium crash which suited me perfectly so Istanbul cymbals were a logical choice. I found some positive criticism on the XIST series to be an affordable, versatile and great sounding series of cymbal, and they have not disappointed.

I use them for blues, funk, rock and reggae style drumming.

Downsides:
Rather thin alloy
Very long sustain on the ride
Ride bell is kind of dull

Upsides:
Decent price
Very clean and reactive hi-hats
Awesome crash
Versatile
Overall they seem well manufactured

Overall I am really happy with the set. I am looking to upgrade by changing to a B20 alloy ride, probably Paiste 2002, for the shorter sustain and clear bell. In the meantime I have a moongel damper pad on the ride which shortens the sustain and that works well for me. All in all the set is great value for most styles of drumming.

Absolutely beautiful...worth every penny and more!

Been a musician for 25+ years. Compared these to Sabian HHX and Zildjian K series and have to say they absolutely blow the others away in terms of price vs performance. Istanbul I understand had family who originally worked at Zildjian- if that's true, you the user can deduce what you need to! I did..and am really pleased. Other's worth considering were Masterwork Troy series- also sound good, perhaps a bit on the brass/gongy side and cheaper. I am using these in a contemporary church setting and these work beautifully for everything from hymns to more modern songs. Just remember to invest in hot rods, cool rods, vater maple/hickory Jazz sticks and broom sticks or traditional jazz sticks for lighter/softer applications.

When I started out with my drumming carrier I didn't have any good cymbals, the drums were good but I wasn't happy with the cymbals, so I went on thomann and bought these Istanbul Agop xist series set. I looked up online how they sound and eventually bought these. I was very suprised by the quality and the sound for that price. These cymbals are professionally made with great alloy, and have a great sound! Love them! Not long after that I bought Istanbul Agop Xist 19 inch Crash any boy it sound good! Highly recommend these cymbals!

Great sound

I'm using mainly for the rock, I especially love the 16 crash it has very good sound. Would recommend this set to everybody who is looking for great set at great price. It can easily compete with top brend cymbals.
