I've played a lot of cheap basses in the 30 years that I play bass. Price/Quality wise this is the best, by far. Plays good, sounds good, no problems whatsoever. But, this is a very simple bass. It has 1 pickup, so don't expect a versatile Jazzbass. It does what it does very well, being a P-bass with a very loud pickup. I does have a different soundcharacter than a split-coil P-bass. Less mid-growl and more lows. It works great in band-setting too. I use it with roundwound strings. Will test it with flatwounds. Big neck, a lot of wood, frets are fine, finish is fine. Just a very decent, usable 50's P-bass that is very cheap. Buy one.
