The English tabor pipe is a 3-hole pipe traditionally used in conjunction with a tabor drum since the 11th century. A single musician would beat the drum with his right hand while playing the pipe with the thumb and first two fingers of his left hand. The origins of the tabor pipe can be traced back to the bone flutes of prehistory, are found in many different cultures around the world and occur in many different styles. And from the royal courts of the Middle Ages to Shakespeare's plays and folk customs, this little three-hole pipe has quite a colourful history.

Keine richtige Tabor Pipe

Im Grunde ein lustiges Gimmick, aber:
1. Die Mensur ist gleich wie bei den Generation Tin Whistles. Das ist etwas arg grob.
2. Die Instrumente haben die gleichen Anspracheprobleme wie die heutzutage unbenutzbaren Generation Tin Whistles in D.

Dadurch klingt das Instrument enorm anstrengend und schrill während es gleichzeitig keine gutmütigen Spieleigenschaften hat.

Im Grunde hat man eine gleichwertige Tabor pipe (nur eben mit "falscher" Griffweise) wenn man eine Generation Tin Whistle halb zuklebt.

Für ernsthaftes Einhandflötenspielen braucht man ein anderes Design das nicht so abartig schrill gevoiced ist. Geht also leider nichts an teureren Instrumenten vorbei.

So macht das jedenfalls wenig Spaß.
